At the Autism Society of Colorado, we care about families and we understand the joys and challenges involved in caring for a loved one with an autism spectrum disorder. Our mission is to improve the lives of all affected by autism, and we believe that providing respite care is an effective way for ASC to help strengthen Colorado’s families and improve the quality of their lives. The Give Me A Break! Respite Care Program (GMAB) was developed to relieve families of the daily care and supervision of a family member with autism.
Participating families attend a two-hour Family Orientation session in which they learn how to prepare an individualized respite notebook. Upon completion of the class requirements, families are then eligible to participate in the program.
Come to a Family Orientation session to get all the details! Contact Robin Zaborek by phone at 720-214-0794, ext. 17 or you can send her a message from our website to learn more.
Note: We always welcome donations of giveaways to help parents enjoy their respite outings. If you, or someone you know, would like to donate gift cards or certificates for dinner, movies, or hotel stays, etc., please let us know. Our families would appreciate any opportunity for a fun respite getaway!
