Kate Dran, Secretary
Kathryn is a PMP-certified IT professional in process management and usability, married, with two perfect teenage sons, one on the autism spectrum and one developing typically. Kathryn has been involved with the Autism Society of Colorado since 2007 as a volunteer, coordinator, board member and panel expert. Her goal in working with the Autism Society is to do as much as possible to provide both her boys with the opportunities to create satisfying and productive adult lives.
Michael Zeitlin, Treasurer
Michael D. Zeitlin has served on the Autism Society of Colorado Board of Directors since 2007 (except for 2014 when he took a sabbatical), serving as President for three years, including 2010, when ASC was named by the Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce as the Small Charity of the Year. In 2008, Michael started Beau Jo’s Pizza nights, now a stalwart program of ASC. Michael was the driving force behind the creation of the Stories on Stage play, Autism Chronicles. Michael received a CPAs Who Make a Difference, 2008 Heroes & Heroines award for community service from the Colorado Society of CPAs. Michael was the June, 2009 recipient of the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award. Michael was given the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Colorado Rockies game on July 21, 2011, in recognition of service of the Autism Society of Colorado to the community. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant in practice since 1978. Michael has extensive experience in accounting and taxation matters. Michael has been the Managing Member of Zeitlin & Associates, CPAs from 1982 until the present day. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants. Michael is a Life Member of the Denver Estate Planning Council. In addition to his CPA practice, Michael is a Managing Partner for commercial real estate syndications and assisted living centers.
Valerie Juarez, SPHR
Valerie Juarez brings over 20 years of Human Resources and business experience to assist the ASC in its board and operating direction. She is the HR Director of Republic National Distributing Company for Colorado and assists with shared services to other markets. Valerie’s dedication to the ASC stems from her passion for giving back to the community through volunteerism, and providing service to charitable organizations and educational programs. She served as Board President for New Mexico State University’s school of Hotel, Restaurant & Tourism Management and holds a Business Management degree from the University of New Mexico. Valerie was appointed to the ASC board in June of 2014.
